Rapid Blood Analysis

Real-time analysis of thrombosis

A simple disposable cartridge plugged into a hand held unit can help paramedics decide whether a patient is more likely to have symptoms due to a blocked blood vessel (thromboembolism) or a bleed (haemorrhage).

The low-cost disposable HBL technology (below right) has been compared like-for-like with a platelet aggregometer, a huge instrument used in hospital laboratories (below left)

  • Real-time analysis of the risk of thrombosis or haemorrhage during ambulatory rescue, surgery or drug trials

  • Multiple parameters can be simultaneously examined (Coagulation, Haematocrit)
  • Strong potential for improvements in accuracy and utility over existing aggregometers.
  • Portable, rugged and low cost
